the merit of this thesis is to prototype & move fast. electrowetting took up a lot of my time — i still think it’s interesting, but at a certain point i need to prototype with other things.
what i need to explore quickly are (for the lack of a better word) modalities — i.e: how can a cell express its state?
i need to explore one modality at any given point in time. for example:
- movement:
- x, y dimension
- z dimension
- sound
- warmth
- rotation
- size (inflatable)
i think it would be poetic if you can connect human behavior to cell states; i.e how do we express?
- movement
- x, y dimension
- z dimension
- sound:
- loudness
- frequency
- rate
- density:
- softness / hardness (to touch)
- reaction (goes in line with danny-rozin saying: what happens if i can influence the behavior of the automata midway):
- to touch
i couldn’t do movement with electrowetting. so what — what else can i do?
