mapped again.

figured out that there’s no anchor in the project. decided to set restrictions, and followed up from conversation with danny-rozin. some ideas:
- out of all the senses, i’m most excited by sight. some senses are inaccessible as an interface-input.
- a cell can be defined as an autonomous unit that acts according to its neighbors. a cell keeps track of the following:
- neighborhood
- state
- a controller on top can keep track of all cells, ids, and load a program onto the cell. this can be the controller that sends the program onto the cell.
- the perceivable expression of the cell is by its degrees of freedom. the more degrees of freedom that the system can afford, the more possibilities there are for the expression of an automata.
- the enquiry is moving towards the following: can a pixel be autonomous? therefore, collective-behavior is complex & unpredictable; is emergent; dependent on seed & noise in the real world (isn’t perfect anymore; like the screen).
for expressive work, the automaton needs to be set free.
