  1. Starting the engineering before finishing your literature review may fall into making a technology that is “cool”, lacking a “use” or a strong conceptual backing.

  2. Making “three small experiments on a theme”. Give yourself the time and space to engineer something bigger.

i’m already a victim of #1. although i wonder at what point do i trust an intuition vs take these as doctrines.
