i had thought this would be it — the itp would push me against 110 rigorous creative-professionals from the world. however, within the first week of classes, i realised that probably wouldn’t be true.
yes, there are technically-skilled people. there are original thinkers. there are some rigorous individuals, but not all of them are so. some treat this like a typical graduate program.
i now realise shobhan telling me about the lack of rigour in the world, and resonating with it here.
i also realise that rigour looks differently for different people, and perhaps that is not a bad thing.
i’m still chewing on this.
