i just found out that someone wrote two papers, got them accepted into a premier hci conference, using a large-language-model. they didn’t write the paper themselves. the boundaries of human-knowledge, now, pushed forward by the communication of a large-language-model.
well, no wonder that other students are going to use more l.l.m.s to read l.l.m-written papers. this insane race to publish more; attend more conferences; speak to people dulled out; appeal to brains with less than half a second of attention span — where is the world headed?
code-bases; circuits; writing; art; now academic-knowledge — everything going to shit. make more, make infinitely more shit for people to consume, so that everyone gets thinner slices of the pie (but everyone does get the pie (more accessible now, no?)).
this is not the world i wanted to be in.

keep making more; like a hamster on a wheel — churn out project after project.
make extremely messy codebases; write like nothing matters; so that it’s impossible for anyone else to pick up from what you started.
learning? oh, fuck that. just make — you are so empowered to now just be ‘creative’. well, for whom?
i am fucking done being surrounded by this a.i. bullshit. please keep at it — make your 100 big projects; write your 500 libraries; get famous on your tik-tok & instagram.
i don’t want that life. i love the work i do — the way i do it. let me be blinded: let me make my 1 small project; write a useless library; and not be a big time artist.
i'm going to stop spending so much time being consumed by things that aren't interesting to me. i have enough evidence that i have strong artistic thought; an inkling for poetry; that the work i do adds meaning to my life; and that, despite all the fabulous, big a.i. projects out there, i still have a tiny audience that wants to listen to me.
