spoke about synthesis. luke dubois was too quick for me here, and i did not fully grasp everything.

so, i duplicated his files into my sound-studio repo so that i don’t lose them. he showed some awesome synth stuff.

basic logic for synthesis in max was this:

oscillator produces a wave (sine, saw, triangle, etc) at a certain frequency

? asked luke about it.

learnt about Iannis Xenakis and granular synthesis.

Granular synthesis is a sound synthesis method that operates on the microsound time scale. It is based on the same principle as sampling. However, the samples are split into small pieces of around 1 to 100 ms in duration, called grains. Multiple grains may be layered on top of each other, and may play at different speeds, phases, volume, and frequency, among other parameters.

from wikipedia

learnt about scala. luke dubois showed metasynth, and made one in max. he’s so fast. and smart.

i tried using pure data for a little bit, but it’s very difficult to use.
