i was trying to articulate why using a large-language-model, especially when learning to code or using assistance to write, is educationally self-defeating.
i remembered bloom’s taxonomy — introduced to me by prachi — when i had begun to teach.

when you look at how people learn, via the above taxonomy; paired with kolb’s experiential cycle (which is fundamental in a making-based program), and use it in context of ai-help, you realize that students skip the ‘understanding’ bit, and move directly to application.
it might be interesting research to understand what difference that makes, and whether (or not) the bloom’s taxonomy is outdated in a world where the journey to go from knowing to application has become faster.
