intro-to-fabrication requires each student to think of a theme.
fabrication is a class about making things. for me, it’s about learning to confidently convert abstract (thoughts) into concrete (form(s)).
the most abstract thing that i could think of was myself, and i’d like to use the process of making to better understand myself. my theme is: (objects that) feel like me.
i liked this definition about fabrication too:
the act of inventing false information in order to deceive someone, or the false information itself.
an alternate theme could be to produce things that aren’t what they seem. however, i’ll stick with the theme i have now.
