in understanding-networks, tom-igoe asked us to share an interesting thing we learnt over the summer. i shared a sentiment i previously shared with nikolai, that:
i met such brilliant people at the recurse-center, that i realized they were at a level that i could never get to; no matter how much i tried. it felt like they were just wired differently — their brains processed the world in a fundamentally different way, that their genius is intuitive.
to which nikolai asked me to explore what can you do that others can’t.
at a lunch-conversation, i shared the same sentiment with b & nasif, and realized that they’ve felt the same way too. apparently, b feels that way with nikolai & nasif. hell, tom-igoe has felt it too apparently.
that made me feel less alone. i feel that way around all of them ^.
perhaps all of us have met incredible people who seem way more talented than us, and yet that cannot dishearten us from doing the work — we still have something to offer; and we, too, are people to look up to for some.
