dear runway, i wanted to make a simple film with you.
made with code; available here.

i wanted to tell a story, typographically, about two characters — "u" & "i" — living in a data-driven world in 2050.

in the first shot, i wanted to show the two characters separated by a building of data; and wished that you simply alternated the 1s & 0s.

next, i wanted to show that "i" lived in a world full of binaries.

here, i wanted you to generate a pseudo-one-point-perspective shot — with "i" in the center of a busy street (such as in new-york), with binaries passing by.

i then wanted to show "i" looking out of a(n invisible) window, and catching a speck of "u" sometimes.

"i" was then supposed to send (binary) phone signals to "u", that would never reach.

you, however, had your own ideas.

finally, i wanted "i" to speculate whether "i" & "u" were the only ones stuck with humanity in a world made up of 1s & 0s.

you said no to humanity, and consumed them into the binary.
